Frequently Asked Questions

Cost & Commitment

How much does mental performance coaching cost?

Pricing depends on the type of work (1:1 athlete coaching, parent support, or team consulting) and the level of involvement.

Details are discussed during the consultation so expectations are clear before any commitment is made.
There are no surprise fees or pressure to continue.

Do you take insurance?

Mental performance coaching is not billed through insurance.

This allows the work to stay:

  • Performance-focused

  • Flexible

  • Goal-driven

  • Free from diagnostic or treatment requirements

If clinical therapy is more appropriate, that will be discussed openly.

How do I know if my athlete is ready?

Mental performance coaching works best when the athlete:

  • Wants to improve mentally

  • Is open to learning new skills

  • Can reflect on their performance

  • Is willing to practice outside sessions

If the athlete is resistant or being forced, results will be limited.
This is assessed during the consultation.

Is this a long-term commitment?

No.

Some athletes benefit from short-term, focused work.
Others choose ongoing support through competitive seasons.

Length and structure are always determined collaboratively.

Can parents book if the athlete is unsure?

Parents often initiate contact — that’s normal.

However, athlete buy-in matters.
Part of the consultation is determining:

  • The athlete’s readiness

  • Appropriate parent involvement

  • Whether now is the right time

Honesty comes first.

Will you tell parents or coaches everything?

No.

Mental performance work requires psychological safety.
Information is shared thoughtfully and purposefully — not indiscriminately.

Clear boundaries are discussed at the start.

What This Is — And Is Not

Is this therapy?

Not in the traditional sense.

This is mental performance coaching, focused on:

  • Confidence

  • Emotional control

  • Focus

  • Decision-making under pressure

Clinical therapy is different and addressed separately when needed.

Is this just mindset or motivation?

No.

This work goes beyond:

  • “Be confident”

  • “Think positive”

  • Motivational talks

Mental performance is trained through:

  • Practical tools

  • Repetition

  • Application in real competitive environments

Outcomes & Expectations

How quickly will we see results?

Some athletes notice changes quickly.
Others improve as skills are practiced and applied over time.

There are no guarantees — but there is a clear process and honest feedback throughout.

What if this isn’t a good fit?

That’s okay.

The consultation exists to assess fit on both sides.
If another approach is more appropriate, that will be said directly.

No pressure. No obligation.

Still Have Questions?

If you’re unsure whether this is right for you or your athlete, the best next step is a consultation.

Age & Readiness

What ages do you work with?

Most athletes fall within:

  • Early teens through college
